About Us
Why Choose Fat Lab?
At Fat Lab, we’re all about keeping things real. Skincare doesn’t need to be complicated or filled with unpronounceable ingredients to work wonders. What your skin truly craves is simplicity, nourishment, and a connection to nature—and that’s exactly what we offer.
Our mission is to bring back what’s been forgotten: a time when skincare was straightforward, natural, and actually good for you. Fat Lab is for those who value quality over clutter and results over fads.
The Fat Lab Difference
The truth is, not all tallow skincare is created equal. Here’s what sets us apart:
• Sourced with Purpose
We use only 100% grass-fed Australian beef tallow, sourced from a trusted local farm in Gingin, WA. These cattle roam freely, graze naturally, and are raised without hormones or antibiotics.
• Backed by Nature, Balanced by Formulation
While tallow is our foundation, we blend it with carefully selected oils (yes, including some seed oils) to support specific skin needs — never filler, always function.
• Made in Small Batches, With Intention
Every jar is handcrafted in Australia with precision and care. No rushed manufacturing. No watered-down formulas. Just real skincare, made the right way.
Why Tallow?
Tallow is one of the most bioavailable ingredients you can put on your skin. It mirrors the fatty acid profile of human sebum, meaning your skin recognises it, absorbs it, and knows exactly how to use it.
It’s rich in vitamins A, D, E & K, plus omega-3, omega-6, CLA, and other essential nutrients that strengthen your barrier, calm inflammation, and deeply hydrate — without clogging pores or disrupting your skin’s balance.
If your skin’s been overloaded, undernourished, or just not thriving — this is your reset.
Our Source: Local, Sustainable, and Pure
Our beef tallow comes from a trusted local farm in Gingin, Western Australia. This family farm is dedicated to raising cattle the natural way, prioritising their health and wellbeing.
Our cattle roam freely on rich pastures, they are 100% grass-fed, homegrown, and raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics. This natural, stress-free environment allows them to grow to their full potential, producing beef that’s not only ethically sourced but also rich in beneficial nutrients like Omega-3 fatty acids.
At Fat Lab, we’re proud to partner with farmers who share our commitment to quality, sustainability, and transparency. Their dedication ensures that every jar of our tallow-based skincare begins with the best foundation: clean, natural, and nutrient-rich ingredients.
About Fat Lab
Fat Lab was born from frustration.
Too many products. Too many promises. And too many people still dealing with dry, inflamed, or reactive skin — despite doing everything right.
We looked at the back of skincare labels and saw a common theme: water, alcohol, parabens, preservatives, emulsifiers… and not much else. Ingredients designed for packaging, not people.
So we went back to the beginning.
At the heart of Fat Lab is a simple belief: your skin doesn’t need more. It needs what it recognises.
That’s why we started with beef tallow — one of the most skin-compatible, time-proven ingredients nature has to offer.
Used for generations before skincare became an industry, tallow is rich in the same nutrients your skin already relies on:
✔ Fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E & K
✔ Skin-identical saturated fats
✔ Essential omega fatty acids
We pair that with carefully selected plant oils where they make sense — not for marketing, but for skin performance. Always intentional. Never overcomplicated.
Everything we make is handcrafted in small batches in Australia, using tallow from cattle raised the right way — on pasture, free from hormones or antibiotics, and treated with respect.
Fat Lab isn’t trendy. It’s not loud.
It’s real skincare that works, made by people who were sick of wasting time (and money) on products that never delivered.
This is a return to basics. To function. To skin that feels like skin again.
Welcome to skincare that cares as much as you do. Because your skin knows what's real.
